Located in an area of the disused former Pool Bank quarry; this extension project to an end terrace cottage was to form a new lounge area with bedroom and bathroom above, along with an extent of internal re-modelling to transform the living spaces for a modern family life.
The aesthetics, coursed sandstone and Welsh slate roof, and the scale of the works were intentionally respectful to make the extension look like ‘it had always been there’ and thus sit comfortably within its Green Belt surroundings.
The locality is a designated Conservation Area & Special Landscape Area, and a number of Bat mitigation measures had to be accommodated for also.
