Enhancing The Heart Building, a staff well-being centre for Tesco

Review & enhancement of existing facilities.

Project Brief

The Heart Building is an existing staff well-being and quality assessment centre, located in the middle of Tesco’s head office campus in Welwyn Garden City. Due to staff usage, working from home aspects and varying external influences, changing patterns of use do occur over time. We were asked to review the existing facilities and consider routes of 3 so the building could maintain its original intent of interaction, collaboration, and creative function.

Project Outcomes

To work with the intent of the existing buildings fundamental layout.

To optimise flexibility in existing areas and facilities, for changing requirements.

To consider future proofing and allowing flexibility of use.

We engaged PWA to help reimagine parts of our head office, with the goal of improving flow and making the building more inviting and functional for our colleagues. The team struck the perfect balance between preserving the character of the space and enhancing its usability. PWA brought creativity, practicality, and a deep understanding of how people use space We’re delighted with the proposed outcome as not many really understand your personal vision and use sustainable materials for a multi-functional space that needs to reflect future centric opportunities.
